With skyrocketing healthcare premiums comes a new concern. CAIPA (Chinese American Independent Practitioners Association) has started a public awareness campaign urging the public to write to Gov Hochul to veto the latest version of the ” Wrongful Death Bill” which would allow victims to sue for unspecified mantal health damages. While the legislation is well intentioned, it did not take in the consequences of future side effects of lawsuits. Insurance carriers do not pay out of pocket to settle, they raise the premiums.
