The 5th Pct celebrated National Night Out 2023 in grand fashion on Aug 1 along Division Street. The annual police community event marked it’s 40th year since its inception. National Night Out allows community members to meet officers who serve their respective local communities and learn about the other work they perform. National Night Out events are organized by the local precinct’s Community Council which is made up of community members who volunteer their time.
Community members queued up to try their luck on spinning the wheel for a prize.
The event changed venue from Elizabeth Street to the much wider Division Street this year and the cool weather brought residents out in numbers unseen in years past.

Residents snaked their way from tent to tent which lined both sides of the street to sample products or win prizes by sponsors or local organizations while the 5th pct grilled hamburgers and hot dogs to give out. At the end of the day it was fun for all.
